Heavy Cane

At Archie Rose, we love a “heavy” rum, white or dark. What does that mean? It means a rum with big, bold, dense flavours. From this comes the inspiration for number seventeen in our Trials & Exceptions series, which we’ve simply called Heavy Cane. Distilled from long-fermented, sustainably sourced New South Wales blackstrap molasses, we’ve used a flavour-packed yeast strain and bottled it at a powerful 50% ABV. 

The result is a bold white spirit known in other places as a white rum, with distinct notes of green jalapeno, guava, ripe banana, mango and pomelo. There are green olives, dark brown sugar and toffee on the palate offering a voluminous and broad finish which resolves with flavours of custard cream biscuits.
